Pre-Certification Activities FOR ISO Certification
Requirements
for ISO 45000:2018
Migrating from
OHSAS 18001:2007 to ISO 45000:2018 will be compulsory for most of the
Organisation. The Process certification for OHSAS 1800:2007 will expire on 12
March 2021.
Migrating from OHSAS 18001 Certification to the new International Standard ISO 45001 Certification may have its
challenges, but with careful planning, checking and commitment, organizations,
their employees and all stakeholders will enjoy the benefits of improved health
and safety management systems.
Pre-Certification Activities :-
(A) - Identifications of Key Hazards & OH&S risk associated with processes
For Safety of
employs the organisation has to identify the hazardous and differentiate them
depending on the criticality, severity, Probability.
Identification of
risks related to Process which cause potential injury, harm or illness.
Incident -Any unplanned event resulting in, or having
the potential for, injury, illness, ill health, damage or other loss.
Near miss - An incident that does not produce an injury
or disease.
Risk assessment - The process of determining the potential of
a hazard to cause injury or illness and the potential severity of that injury
or illness.
Risk control - The process of controlling risks associated
with hazards by using the hierarchy of control.
Risk management - The overall process of identifying hazards,
assessing the risk of those hazards, eliminating or controlling those hazards
and monitoring and reviewing risk assessments and control measures.
Workplace- Any place where work is done on behalf of
Organisation including any premises or Motor Vehicle That Is Owned, Leased Or
Rented By Organisation
(B) - Main Hazardous Materials Used In Process -
This section is divided into two main
subsections:
General Hazardous Materials Management: Guidance applicable to all projects or
facilities that handle or store any quantity of hazardous materials.
Management of Major Hazards: Additional guidance for projects or
facilities that store or handle hazardous materials at, or above, threshold
quantities, and thus require special treatment to prevent accidents such as
fire, explosions, leaks or spills, and to prepare and respond to emergencies.
(C) - Legal Obligations for Applications OH&S
Legal obligations,
such as company law, employment law, state law, Statutory, regulatory,
contractual requirement, etc.
(D) - Details of personal working onsite and offsite
Insurance, Health
checkups, Responsibility, Ability, Language Skills, Literacy, Risk, Emergency
Preparedness and response, Training, Evaluation.
